really, betanews? advertising this on march 30th, when it came out the first week of february with the same version number? way to stay "current".
just one question: why is the powerpoint 2007 viewer about 13.8 times as big as the powerpoint 2003 viewer? (comparing the files sizes of the installation packages.)the setup process and the functionality are the same, just that the 2007 viewer can display powerpoint 2007 files which the 2003 viewer probably can't.what's in the additional 24 mb? is powerpoint 2007 itself included? how nice of microsoft that would be.
anomoly said:reviewing beta (nov 18, 2009)"expires in oct next year. excellent news so that i do not waste a year, any year."----------------------------------------------------------------------------------that's nice to know that you won't waste a year, any year. microsoft doesn't want folks testing their products who simply b**** and moan about them. they do look for constructive and insightful feedback though. it would appear you don't have any of that. so, move on.
what a load of garbage. it's slow, incompatible with other utilities that change the screen like microsoft magnifier, has limited gafgets and in general is just a poorly written piece of crap.desktop sidebar blows the doors off this in terms of code quality, speed and versatility.it's not worth the download bytes and broadband is cheap.one star for crap with no future.
to your post us3r:you rated the software with two and speak as if you never tried the software for yourself - talking only about that the price is too high for you to effort and not even mention a free alternative (cause there is no). i really wonder what those commends should cause, why and for what ?us3rreviewing 3.45.4 beta (feb 4, 2009)this program doesn't offer much more than similar tools which are completely free, yet author want almost 20$ for a copy whether you are commercial user or home user or student. the life time license doesn't speak to me since i remember the development of these application stopped like for two years around version 2.0.
decent, works fine, burns flac realy well, no need to use anything else, free! :)
i haven't tried the newest version yet -- and i probably never will.i have been a full retail registered nero user for many years, but in the last two years i have found that nero totally fails to provide any customer service or tech support for their products.all you will ever get by contacting either customer support or tech support is just the typical automated email saying they have received your request and will reply soon -- but don't hold your breath because that promised reply is never going to come.
ok it's been nearly 4 years since i was test driving this software, and seeing it here again i decided to give it another try. for starters, i kind of like the application, but it makes it hard for me to keep liking. previously i posted a list of annoyances (see below) and some have been fixed, but rather clunkily (is that a word). anyway... 1. the installer on windows 7 x64 doesn't close out gracefully. after the install, windows prompts that it may not have installed correctly and i have to tell it that it was ok. now into the program: 2. i previously posted that changing fields required clicking with the mouse. they did include a configurator that allows you to specify key(s) that you can hit that will advance you to the next field. it doesn't always work. for starters, when the program is new, or if you're entering a payee that is new, a very annoying box pops up asking you to define the new payee. seriously? include a check box that gives you the option to decide if you want to set that information up. otherwise, let it flow. once you get a flow along with the payee being recognized, hitting the key you've defined (i set mine to enter) it doesn't always jump to the next field. leaving it as the tab button works, but i like the enter button. it' s more natural to me.3. the last entry date bug was fixed seemingly, so it allows you to enter the info you want to enter in batches by date rather than having to set the date back a few days each and every time. (at least the devs are listening).4. the register sorting seems freaky. once it only sorted by entry, regardless of date, then it sorted by date (which is should), but shouldn't it do it all the time?5. i'm still going over the program with a fine tooth comb, but overall, as i've said it's become too clunky and ambitious. it should be tweaked down a bit and perhaps different versions need to be developed. some, (maybe more than i think) people would rather just have a checkbook register/balancing program, rather than the bloat of all the financial crap that's been added. make it to where it's just a checkbook register with a savings register in the background. give it the function of reconciling, keep the options to configure, and give the option of configuring new payees rather than forcing it down our throats. maybe make it a "my money lite". as it is, an excel spreadsheet with some key formulas is more appealing....turn it into a donate rather than "in 6 months you have to pay for it or you can't get to your account" and you'll have me. until then, i have to downgrade again and give it a 2. 1 because of what it's supposed to do, and 1 because the devs usually listen. as things are fixed, i may up my rating.
does anything but care and its online installer tries to hijack your browser, stay far away from this piece of systemplague.out of curiosity, i tried getting it, so i went to their homepage and saw that i need to download an online installer.that never sits too well with me, so i submitted it to threatexpect. it came back with some interesting results. according to them, the online installer calls "api.mybrowserbar.com" for whatever reason, so naturally upon seeing these results i went back and launched the online installer again to search if there's any mentioning of "mybb" somewhere in the installer.sadly there wasn't, not even a single hint that it might try and contact that address nor was there any button that allowed my to disable it.
