User reviews lenovo vista sound driver
i hardly ever try out these type programs that cost money, but i was intrigued because of the interface (icons/colors, etc.). like another reviewer, i doubt i'd pay for it when there's so many free ones out there that do the same thing. i've tried them all...i'm after the perfect one! one thing it doesn't seem to have that all the free/shareware ones have is there is no a way to "snooze" the alarms. another thing was that i had to go to the "properties" to edit it...too many clicks; a right-click would suffice.i also couldn't create a new note from the table view--had to click on "new note" icon and the only way to create a task was to create a note first. the one thing it had that i absolutely loved was the database view so i can see all the notes/tasks in a table which was sorted easily, but i didn't see a filter (only today's tasks/notes or a week/month). i'm definitely going to continue to evaluate it to be sure i'm correct in my first experiences with it and that i didn't miss something. it has potential, but i think i'd be more willing to donate money to the program creators versus buying it. the interface gets a 5 (i love seeing my notes in list form.), however, these little annoyances bring it down for my rating.
i bought a new hp notebook with windows 7 ultimate and downloaded xp mode from microsoft. that took 90 minutes. it worked okay the first time, except for my not knowing how to get it to recognize my flash drive. the next day, i started up the pc again and later clicked for xp mode. this little window pops up and tells you it is opening virtual pc or something. you have to wait three or four minutes for this to activate the xp mode, much longer than i would prefer to wait. then the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh attempts that i made to open xp mode all failed. it would give me an error message, "could not enable the integration features" then suggests i try again or continue without these features. why should i continue without the features, and what features will be i be sacrificing? that doesn't make sense. i called microsoft and asked them to help me. they opened a case and did their best to get xp mode to work, but were unable to do so. thus i returned the computer to hp for a refund. i ordered another notebook that has windows 7 32-bit. i think this will be the answer to being able to use my old software. xp mode is not worth it.
the only spyware available for xp64, others work but don't know if they protect all aspects of a 64bit system.
1. limitations:a) cannot work on windows xp x64, installer quitsb) requires .net 2.0 or higherc) cannot work properly on screen 1024x768 (too narrow, cannot show the right panel)2. no information about system requirements and these (and maybe others) limitations on the official website.3. no any feedback form or bugreport/discussion forum or simply e-mail address on their website.4. ui problems: to set/clear checkbox in settings, need to click on the bar where this checkbox resides, not the checkbox itself. counter-intuitive for windows users.5. games which i tried, work smooth, without problems, but on pc screen they remind the 20 years old games designed at the times of ibm pc/at386, looks childish (not a problem of emulator, of course).promising, nevertheless
this is a really excellent compression utility! very high quality and free
yes you can and actually need to instal both 32 and 64 bit packs to get 100% functional setup as some apps use 32bit version of codecs while others use 64bit....
i use this for ebook renaming mostly. permanent addition to my portable file collection.
i suppose if you don't have any decent photographs of your own this is better than looking at a blank screen? however i do.
re: multimedia centre: well at least i can watch tv again. recording doesn't work, and most fatures are bare bones only, but it's better than nothing. re: new drivers: ati seems to have resolved some of the stability issues with the 1st set. no more bsod with quake iii, quake ii now runs fullscreen. now, if they'll just make 'em smp stable for my bp6...
